Default Need Help PLEASE...

I have a 2000 ext. Silverado with a 5.3 i got some pacesette longtube headers this morning and took them to a muffler shop for the install (i didnt delete the cats) so the guy said he had done alot of header installs and it was not a problem....
Sooo i went to pick it up and he told me everything was ok there was NO Check Engine Light but there was two hoses that didnt have a place for them on the new headers???????? So they are just there he said he couldnt do anything about them and gave me my keys and said its going to be $500
I think they are the EGR valves ...So guys please help me what do i do with these? What are they for? Or what do they do? How can i fix this. When the truck is on i could feel ALOT of air that coming out of them PLEASE HELP

Easiest, not best solution, is put a bolt, or plug in it. Best option is, assuming you don't have a provision for the EGR on your headers, is have a flange welded on.

That's AIR injection which is an emissions device. There is an air pump (top of picture, between left and center) which pumps fresh air into the exhaust stream to help burn unburned exhaust gasses that have escaped combustion. You can remove the AIR system and have it tuned out via software like EFILive or HPTuners, but I notice that you're in CA, and removing emissions equipment like that is a big no-no there. Honestly, I'm not sure how you'll pass smog with the LT's in the first place being that you're in Cali.

Here you can see my old EGR solenoid (black cylinder to right of pic with electrical connector on top), back when I had my old shorties and 99 PCM:

And in this pic, you see my current StainlessWorks LT's which don't have EGR provisions, and my EGR solenoid has since been removed and chucked and intake port capped off with a factory cover

It has a flange but the guy at the muffler shop hooked one hose up to it i have no idea which one it is or where it comes from. He did weld the cats back on but i know that if they are not in the same factory place thats an auto. FAIL i guess i should of though about that before i took it in to have them installed but i got the headers for a good price.
Is the truck drivable the way it is now untill i figure out what im gunna do??
Thanks OneBadRR and Budhayes3 for the quick reply

If I'm not mistaken, the air injector reactor just pumps fresh air into the catalyst to help in catalyzing exhaust gasses in the second chamber of the cat. But in Cali, they have road side sniffers now, so it's a gamble.

That's basically all that it does...you can drive the truck and it will perform fine. You may get a CEL from the PCM not seeing the "clean" O2 in the exhaust stream as it should when the pump activates, but you'll still be able to run.

As long as you don't get nailed by a spot inspection, you could always get a factory y-pipe and manifolds for your yearly and swap em out just for inspection.
