Default need help picking cam 6.0 tahoe

alright im pretty new to this forum but i regularly am on gmfullsize.

anyways im fixing to put a lq4 6.0 in my tahoe this christmas and need some help picking a cam.

looking for a good cam for daily driving that isn't going to destroy my transmission/drivetrain but give me some good power to turn the 33's and later on 37's

specs so far are black bear tune, aem intake, efans, vette servo, and flowmaster.

currently on 33's but plan on going to 37's later down the road.

other mods i plan on doing with the 6.0 swap as well as the cam are converter (2600 or 3000), some mods to beef up the 4l60 such as tru cook 40k tranny cooler, HD2 shift kit, and im sure a lot of other things i haven't researched yet.

anyways any help will be appreciated. thanks!

I'd recommend something like the famous 212/218 for a 6.0 powered Tahoe that's going to be running on big tires (and some major gearing for those 37's!). Search this forum and the internal section for 212/218 and should find enough info to keep you reading until New Year's.

(The Vinci Trucker is another cam that I'd consider if you don't mind stepping up the stall speed of the tq converter around 2600+....216/224 .551/.551 115)

thanks for the info man!

i probably should have included that i plan on doing a yank 3000 as well!

i got some other advice from another forum that since its gonna be a bigger truck im gonna want a smaller big lift cam fro low end torque and power in a more usable range since i'm not going to want to rev to the moon to move the trailer.

and i will definitely be doing 4.88s or 5.13's when it comes time for 37's but that isn't going to be anytime soon.. as those gears will probably be in a 14 bolt around that time.

and just for teh record, i have the stock 3.73s on 33's currently.

212/218 sounds like a good choice
