Need help with old slow z71
#1
Hay guy i need a hand on finding out what i can do to bring some life back to my dads 94 silverado. I know its not the ls1 but looking for some advice. We have changed the cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter, no cats, new single 2.5inch exhaust, the fuel pump has good presure and the ingecters have good spray. it has 114000 miles on it and has been driven very slow. Could the cam be worn out?

take it out and rebuild it. increase the compression and use hyperutectic pistons with ARP bolts through out. get a set of vortec heads with comp cams triple springs and go full roller.279/280dur.479 lift for your cam should be allright. do not use stock springs they can only handle about 465 lift. your 94 may already be roller. if you go with a large cam then the stock computer will go crazy. get rid of you TBI.go TPI off of a camaro or vett unless you are running a 4L60E. if you are running a 4L60E tranny then you will have to call painless to get a wiring harness and computer to make the TPI run your 4L60E. there is alot of wiring involved but after you are done you will have a screaming motor and your check engine light will still work were as if you go with a system from holley or someone the engine wont tell you when something is wrong. painless has a book that will pretty mutch walk you through the swap. For the intake and injection system i have one that is complete off of a vett. all it needs is a motor under it. pm me if you are interested.
