Need Help with more power

A cam is always a good start....check out www.vincihighperformance.com or Thunder Racing for a good selection. If straight-line performance is your goal nitrous is always a good option...as long as you don't mind "renting" your horsepower.
Combine a mild cam with a 2500-300rpm stall converter and you'll have a nice gain in performance for under $1200 if you install the cam yourself..spray a small shot of nitrous on top of that and you'll be smilin' all the time.

well...from what i've seen...stock 4.8's run around high 15's to mid 16's....
with e-fans, thermo, and nitrous(125shot im guessing) parish8 dropped down to mid-high 13's...about $1k in mods to run with ls1's isn't to bad eh?
u could always swap engines out to a 6.0 also...if u wanted to do that.
