all right im dumb when it comes to all this electronic , computer, crap. im wanting to disable my speed limiter. what do i have to do. the truck is a 2500hd w/ a 6.0l in it, it is all stock except for cold air. im not looking so much for more power, just want to get rid of the speed limiter, im tired of it cutting of at 98 on the highway

 

I ordered the superchip microtuner. It ables you to take your speed limiter off, also gives you more power with differnet tunes you can program into your truck like a towing program or a performance program. you can also adjust your trans shift points and shift pressure and rev limiter.

 

For the same $$ you can mial order a tune (like Nelson's etc) or you can dyno tune. The results are much better.

 

handheld programmer, mail order tune, dyno tune. Used handhelds can be found for a little over $100. Mail order and dyno tunes will cost $200-400. Mail order and dyno tunes will give you better performance. I'm not sure if all of the handhelds will remove the speed limiter completely. I know Hypertech raises the limiter to 128. Which was fast enough for me.
