cut off cat, place section of pipe in place of cat, cut cat from end to end open it up and take the crap out, wrap cat around new section of pipe, weld

good luck with that.

I think the easiest way is to cut the cats off with a sawzall, take a wide screwdriver or chisel, and pound it through with a hammer unill you get the crap out. Took me about 10 minutes to gut them and then I took it to a trusty exhaust shop and had them welded back on.

I sold a set and gutted them before I shipped them to save some $$ I used a prybar and a BAH (big *** hammer) a piece of re-bar and a 4-5lb maul works great. Then Once you get thru it once it gets easier.

If you have a MIG welder you can drill 2 or 3 holes into the cat (from the top so they don't show) and poke a rod in and twist it around to break the stuff up. That's what I did. You use the MIG to close up the holes. My holes were 3/8 inch each.

Beat a long screwdriver or pipe about 3 inches into the cat and pry it around until you break up the guts. Do this 5 or 6 times. Dump all the material out and repeat. Do this until you have gutted the cat. Just takes a little time and patience.
