ok, when you remove the cats you wil need a tune. you can also use 02 sims but they suck and don't usually work. Tell allen to turn off the back 02 sensors and you will be fine. also if your tired of the resonance you need to look at a different muffler. If you take the cats off everything is going to get a hell of alot louder everywhere. i would put on 2 maganflow mufflers with an x pipe if your going to run duals. if not I would get a corsa or soemthing and that will take care of the resonance but they are expensive.

I Want To Go Ahead And Cut The Cats Off. But It Might Be A While Before I Get The Tune. Im Probably Going To Jsut Wait And Get It Done When I Get Cam.the Only Thing Im Worried About Is It Have The Horrible Old 5.7 Rattle When You Get On It. I Like A Smooth Or Raspy Tone.

ok, really if your going to cut the cats off go true duals becasue you really need to 2 mufflers under their plus an x pipe to smooth everything out. You will have power pops like crazy at 2000rpm all the way up to 3-3500rpm and it is so freakin annoying. trust me I have had already 3 different exhaust with the same mufflers jsut tweaking it. I started with a 1 chamber dumped, then took the cats off(sounded like ***) then I had true duals put on with 2 1 chambers and a magnaflow x pipe. my exhaust is pretty loud and is raspy but still clean. I love it but I wouldn't take it on a trip more the 2 hours but it's great around town. You can cut your cats off and not have a tune but you will get a light but it wont hurt anything. hell my light has ben on for a couple of months. any other ??

Thatswhat I Planned On Doing Was Duals With The X Pipe. I Really Dont Know If I Want It Really Loud Though. I Had A 79 Trans Am That I Would Cruise Around Town In. All It Had Was Hooker Long Tubes 3" Pipe (2) One Chambers With Dumps And You Couldnt Hear Yourself Think. But I Do Want It Load Enough To Get Everones Attention.

hhhmmm well the 1 chambers will get everyones attention but it 's not that loudd where you can't hear yourself think. also your in a truck and it doesn't echo as bad becasue your hire off the ground. I think the magnaflows might be a good choice for you. you might have to try a couple of mufflers but you will get it right and keep it.

i was skeptical at first but you might want to take alook at vhp/crane cams tuner, its really powerful, they also have a great selection on cams, http://www.vincihighperformance.com go to the suv selection, the one im going with is the DUR @ .050" 216*/224* LIFT .551/.551 LSA 115, but read about the tuner, its not like your everyday hypercrap, or the diablo. it has selections for cam tuning built in, and i believe that its tailored around the vhp/crane cams, but will work with others, since it has levels. like 1,2,3 cam selection.
