Default Need help 8.1L 2500 suburban... no luck with exhaust

I have called a few of the main exhaust people and get very strage answer's from all them.

1) corsa said " we maked a cat back for all makes of the truck, regular, extended, crew, long and short beds, But no suburban... We do make a cat back for the 2500 6.0L suburban and denali XL as well as the Esculade but not for one with a 8.1L. I ask if i can just get one for the 6.0 because they have the same size exhaust piping and they said " no its a different set up all together"

2) Edelbrock has two sound clips of there exhaust on there web page. One if with the DTS muffler only other is a cat back. When you call to get a part number they say " we dont offer exhaust for the 8.1L suburban"

SO those of you that know more about this stuff than I, what the heck is the difference that a 6.0L exhaust will not work on a 8.1L suburban but they interchange on a freaking turck....

Why don't you just get a custom made exhaust?

All i can say is crawl up under a cadilac esv look at there pipe configuration and if yours looks like thiers then go for it it should fit,the main dif's i found is the 8.1 truck uses dif type of cats, and larger 3" dia pipe vs. the 6.0 uses 2 1/2" pipe and a dif type cat. So take a trip to a dealer and look underneath if you see the same under the cadi it should fit.

Well, I ran into a similar deal with Corsa...... No system for the 1500HD. Their tech dept. told me that every catback was tuned to the specific vehicle and engine combo. They said that the 2500HD kit would not work as is and any mods would void warranty. "Don't do it." hahahaha. I bought a NIB 2500HD kit on ebay for a steal and decided to see how bad it was. Trimed the Y-pipe and welded that one spot and everything else fell right into place like it was "made for it" lol. I've been extremely happy with the results. I've since changed everything else in my exhaust, but the Corsa is still hanging strong.

yea it has leaf springs and the 14 bolt rear end. Im going to try to make it to my dad tomarrow and look under the 04 crew cab. I just dont see how the same exhaust is different. I thought maybe it was the gas tank but that runs under the drivers side....

Big, you got any shot of the K5 on 40's... sounds cool..
