need help with 6.0
#1
alright guys, i just bout a 6.0 complete motor with a tr220 cam, and some 4.8 heads that were milled .30 over and a 3 angle valve job......now i got this out of a friends truck, but there is a cracked piston and a bent valve, what would have caused this and do you think it is even enough to salvage or should i just sell it. and also would this have any effect on the crank journals..........thanks and any information would be appreciated.

hmm did he ever spray it? It can more than likely be fixed. Get it bored and build a solid 408 out of it. Then get some good heads wcch(sponsor), texasspeed(sponsor), or get some ok 6.0 heads for better flow and have them milled.

what about the milling, i know it brings the dome closer to the piston to increase compression, do you think that that.30 could have brought it that close and made the valve slap that piston and crack it.......... or would it have something to do with my rods or springs or etc.

depends on the lift of the cam . . . was that the only cam in the engine? . . . what springs were on the heads, and how old/miles were on them?
You could have broken a spring, and the valve dropped far enough to get slapped.
