Default Need a fuel pump, what should I get?

Here's the deal, about a year and a half ago, my fuel pump crapped out on my truck. Like an idiot I got one from OReily's, and a few days ago it started making a horrible noise and the truck is very hard to crank, so I know it is bout to give out too. The GM dealer gave me a part number 19121626 that is $474.47!!! Can I get just the fuel pump somewhere or do I have to buy the whole damn assembly again? Also, is there anywhere else I could get it a little cheaper? GM parts direct sells them for alot less, but it will be like 2 weeks before I get it, I would love to get this done this weekend while I'm off for Christmas. Any info will be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

You can get a Warboro 255 I believe thats the right number...for like $120 from magna charger..just tell them you bought a blower online and you need a fuel pump..you may have to motify your assembly a little but thats no biggie.

Would the Walbro be overkill on a bolt on 5.3? How much modifying will it take?

doesn't take that much modding really, I modified a bucket to work but ended up breaking one of the electrical connectors on the top (not the pump, on the bucket) so I threw it away

It does not hurt to have the Walbro pump in the tank and if you make any future upgrades, you have room to grow. Plus you could buy the Walbro cheaper anyway. I have seen them at numerous places (Ebay) for less than $100.00.

Not any serious modifying. Pretty simple swap.

Just my 2 cents.
