You have the Allison transmission so the tranny computer is mounted up on the side of the radiator right?
I think Tbyrne installed a set of Flex a lite 292's on a 8.1 Ally equipped truck once but, don't know for sure. That Ally computer might be in the way for the bigger 282's to fit.
Try emailing him tbyrne@tbyrnemotorsports.com and see what he says.

I was looking for something to match the engine driven fan far as cfm pull. that way I need not worry hot and muggy mudding days. right now I have gathered a combo that will pull a rated 5900 cfm. Just looking for something bigger, than flex-a-lite 5500 cfm.
keep the info coming, thanks for all the responses.

Perma-Cool makes 14" and 16" fans that push/pull 2950cfm each. You could put two 14''ers in there and get about 5900cfm. They're about $85 a piece. You should look into LS1 fans too. They seem to be a popular choice around here too. I don't know what they pull though.

yeah I know about perma-cool fan I am going to use 16" ones in my kit. Just wondering if there any higher cfm rated ones, For the person who wants e-fans and not worry about heat when towing.
But my engine fan has engage 100% one time, was on a 102 degree day while romping the mud with ac on but that was only for a 30 sec. Nothing better than wheeling with ac on. So I am hoping that 5900cfm is enough, just wondering if there were fans that pull high cfm and cheaper than $300. I have been looking at dfferent fans for a while, just checking, want to pull the great wisdom from you guys on this forum.
Plus I was thinking that for the diesel guys, one that use thier truck for fun. That a guy could switch fans to full on while pulling or draging keeping the intercooler cooler!!

the permacools move a lot of air according to there spec's. i dont like the fact that they do not have any kind of shroud. i think you will lose air flow from them not directing the air. IMO.

I have found couple of different fans one is a Zirgo e-fans their 16" high flow model will flow up to 3300 cfm. but two will cost me 600 clams!!! last is lincon mark VIII fan is popular choice in the furd forums, but don't know what cfm it is, but peak amp draw is very high, I think least 30 amps These run anywhere from 150-250 dollars. My alum. mounting plate that I design for the HD radiator will put the fans close to the radiator like pema-cool instructions say, Pema-cool say just mount them right to the radiator cause the frame on the fan has specific clearance for them. But I am keeping in mind that I might have to build a fan shroud for them.
Thank for the info.

cool then they should work. yay i would build a bracket for them to. i think some have had a prob with the tie straps or whtever they are called rubbed through and made there rads leak.
