Default Need converter info here

I have an 03 gmc sierra 1500 rc. I just bought it and i'm curious as to what kind of stall converters they make for these. Which one is the best and about how much do they cost? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Click on the Yank icon in the sponsors list on the right side of the forum.I highly recommend the Truck Thruster 3000.

Depends what you're looking for, all out performance or just a boost. Prices range anywhere from about $400-$800. The site favorite seems to be the Yank TT3000. Other popular ones are the Vigilante converters. Stall speeds go from 2400-4400(that's the highest that I know of). So what do you expect from your truck?

At about $250.00 an install, you are better off buying a Yank or Vigilante you shouldn't have problems with either one of them,if you tow at all the Yank is the way to go.

i have a 99 trans am with a vigilante 4000 and it made about .5 sec in a 1/8 mile. I want the smallest converter i can get for it. Probably between a 3500 and a 4000. On these trucks at what stall speed do they make the converter smaller?

Tiburan,I've had 2 different TCI converters in my Tahoe.I don't like to say bad things about site sponsors, but neither of the 2 converters was in my truck more than a week.

Greyghost, don't go smaller than a 3000 on the Yank the drivability of the TT3000 is so good and the increase in performance so pronounced, there's just no need to go smaller.

I just got my YANK TT3000 from TBRYNE (site sponsor) on 12/17/03. I haven't had a chance to install it yet but plan on doing it the week after X-Mas. This converter was recommended to me by about 25 people on this site, and after considering all the options, I went with it. Yank convertors are not cheap, but like anything else, you get what you pay for. I have been told to expect between 4 and 7 tenths in the quarter, usually around 5 tenths is the average. TBRYNE arranged for my converter in about 2 weeks, and at the time it was on sale so it cost me right around $700 delivered. I know the sale is over now, but Tom often offers specials for online ordering and what not. Give him a call, I'm sure he will give you a good price and his helpfulness and service are second to none!
