Default Need cats!!

I need a set of cats, live in VA and dont have emissions testing(at least where i am) but its part of the yearly safety inspection.. I have been looking at the thunderbolt 3" spun converters, i already have a set of speed engineering 1 7/8 long tubes to go on.... Already figure im probably goin to have to trim the collector up to make room for the cats.. Would like to use a ball/socket type flange to make removal easier when i put my trans in..... has anyone used these cats before and what is your take on them... Or is there something ive missed comparable pricewise that would be better???

I have no personal experience with them. I have read other members (not in this forum) have decent luck with them.
Why ball and socket and not V-band clamps? Just curious.

Personally, I have had these and love them. Not a bad deal either.

I use a high quality band clamp. I can pull the ypipe down in sections and not have to pull the entire exhaust down and they don't leak.

I use Magnaflow metallic cats....they are about 9in overall length.

Vbands will work like Tig stated.

Frozen boost makes fake cats too, if you want to go that route.

The hassle is that it's going to affect the way the truck runs. If your going to put them on, Just do the fake ones and you wont have to mess with it for inspection, just leave them on.
