Not sure what people tend to like better. I've heard keeping VVT sucks, then also heard keeping it being a good thing. I am no matter what though, swapping lifters out and deleting AFM. That **** blows. But if you have suggestions on the VVT topic, I would love some input.

id also like to state it’s a semi budget friendly build. looking for no more than 550hp, and keeping it as simple and reliable as i can but with meeting a good power goal. you guys know what it’s about i’m not worried

I'd call cam motion and tell them what you want and Answer all their questions. the whole Gen 5 engine cam specs are quite different than the gen 3 and gen 4 engines in terms of power. I've got buddys that run performance shops and what they have learned about gen 5 cam info for different applications is crazy. so I don't even try to give advice on gen 5 stuff. Call cam company and they have cool computer stuff to get you want you want.

Gwatney makes truck cams, check them out or give them a call.

I understand that Katech has some type of machine where they windowed a block and observed valvetrain harmonics so the 64x lift cams they have don't beat the valve seats to death. TSP had on there site that LT engines had a known issue with valve seats falling out. It appears it was due to ramp rates and harmonics if I'm reporting it correctly? Big gains to be had with a .65 cam vs. a .525 cam. I hear BTR and Cam Motion is on board too. Haven't checked it out. Food for thought.

I went with a btr cam spec’d out to
210/223, .540"/.540", 111 LSA, 14% fuel lobe. hopefully runs good!

I'm in the process of a 6.2 L92 rebuild and went with the Tick Performance stock converter cam. It has a good but more duration and lift than that cam and Tick said it gains power everywhere and drives and idles great with the stock converter. We shall see.

The specs are:
219/232, .619"/.598", 115+5 LSA.

From videos I've seen, it has a pretty nice idle "cam/chop" which surprised me from the 115 LSA. Comparing the overlap of these 2 cams, they are very close with yours having -2.75* and the Tick having -2.25*.

It will be interesting to see how they compare when completed!
