Default Need an answer quick!

Well i took my throttle body off so i can drill a hole in it so i can smooth my idle out with my new cam. (216/220)still waiting on tuning. i was told to put a 9/32 hole in it, but i discovered there is a hole in the blade already?? is there supposed to be? im not sure how big it is but i know its smaller than 9/32. so should i just drill the hole out bigger or make a seperate hole on the TB???thanks

Drill out the hole that is already their. Drill it out a little at a time, can't put any metal back if you go to big.

Yes, the hole is suppose to be there. Listen to what whitez71 said though, good advice.

I,m not sure what size the hole is. I would just measure the hole with a drill bit and see what size it is. Grab the next size bigger bit and drill it out. Stick the TB back on and see how it runs. I would only go a couple sizez larger and if still idled bad wait for the programing.

Since you have the TB off, take out the throttle stop or idle screw and switch it to the top side,it's a small torque,do this and you will have your adjustment were you can get to it on top.I drilled my plate slightly adjusted the screw just a little and Ed Wright Adj. the idle up 50RPMs mines perfect at about 675RPM idle

Like I said in your other post, I have that cam and that is the hole size that really made the difference for me. I went little by little and that's the size I came up with. You can't go wrong with doing little at a time. Just some advice though, make sure your drill bits are SHARP and have a steady hand. If that blade cracks you can only buy the entire throttle body now. Good luck.

One more thing, you'll need to bump your idle to 800RPM's for best idle quality. Do it via the throttle blade set screw or tuning.
