The smoothness and drivability are great with a TT3000,but it will windup costing close to $1000 for a new TT3000 with installation even with a group purchase price.ASM headers will run about the same and a Nelson tune without any mods won't net much of a horsepower gain.

nelson tune wont net much of a horsepower gain with out mods huh?? wtf??? maybe im wrong but tuning of any sort will help no matter what mods you have! i gained over 4/10's with nelson tune over the hpp3 with same mods so i would beg to differ but i could be wrong. ok back to the question if i had $700 to start off with i would go with the tune and exhaust!! Since you do get free upgrades on the tunes as you add mods

Howdy!
Nelson tune and exhaust gets my vote, but you will want all that and more. BTW you will still be happy with a Yank stall when you get one! Maybe you can drive someone's truck (or car) with a stall and see how you like it.

Don't forget about what you can install yourself. Yeah the converter is great, but if you can't install it yourself, it is going to cost you over $1000 for the converter plus install, maybe as high as $1200. The catback and Nelson tune will give you a great gain, plus you get the bonus of a sweet sounding exhaust, and the whole thing will cost you less than $800, and you will love how it drives and sounds all together. I have driven a couple of trucks with the stalls, and they are real tame, and with the torque multiplication you get from the stall it makes a huge difference. A little tricky launching without decemating the tires, but makes up for it while running down the road or track. The tune will work in correspondence with all other mods, and unless you get real heavy on mods, a retune will not be necessary! Enjoy that truck man!
