Default Need advice on cam tuning. Im lost!

Runs ok. But the idle is getting crappier. When I take off after I sit at a stop light or something the truck feels like it hesitates a bit. Feels like a 2 stroke does after it idles for a long time, it loads up. When driving, it feels like its missing a bit. Ive tried a few things with Edit but im stuck between a rock and a hard place. Im going to get a tune from Allen but I have to wait till I get some extra cash. What can I do to get my truck to run right for the time being??? Many thanks in advance!!

Off the wall here.....Check for Vacume leaks. Not that the cam cant cause the same symtoms that you are talking about, but you say you have tried to tune for it with no improvement. Leads me to think there is possibly something else going on.

i have that same problem, it stumbles a bit when letting off the brake, and slowly taking off. and i dont know if its me or what, but when i am traveling say 50 it feels like its missing at time, weird feeling..

my idle is fine though, warm and cold starts are excellent, reverse surges a bit though..

nothing a little bit of reading and experimenting cant help..

Man the hesitation sucks! But the cam is nice. Just cant figure this thing out. I just want it to run right till I can get my tune.

what all have you changed so far in edit?

i have touched the ve, idle air, iac, and ifr table, it did help for it to finally idle because it use to turn off on me..

i think a wideband would really help out.. but thats to much $$ for the e.t i would gain..

Not a whole bunch. Not real sure what to change. May end up having a local shop tune it. Kinda runs like **** right now.

If it's the cam that's listed in your sig, you should not need any tuning. I had that cam once and others that I know and needed nothing done to the tuning. How many miles have you put on it with it in? Mine always took about 150 miles to steady out.

Prolly about 50+ miles. Im a tad more concerned about the stumble off idle.

I remember driving my truck before Allen tuned it and it was pretty drivable with this same cam.

I went and did some logging. I am getting MAD KR!!! In the low RPM's. Anybody have a PCM they want to sell??? I want to try a later model PCM to see if the problem still persists. Also, who knows how much it costs to get a PCM updated at the dealer??
