Found a lq4 for sale, but honestly don't have a clue what I should check on to make sure it's worth buying. Supposedly it's a 00 with 120k miles, all original never been opened up. He bought it to put in a car, but never got any further than pulling the motor out. Just need to know what I should look at/for when I go to check it out..
I'd like to clean it up, change the cam as well as do a little head work and put it into my 06 crew cab in place of my 5.3

Since there's nothing wrong with the 5.3/60e in my truck I could do whatever I have to to the 6.0/80e in my garage and get it ready to go in the truck

Alright thanks bud.. but what about the 6.0, anything I should check for when I go to look at/buy it?
Guy was asking $800, told me he'd take $700, but will probably take $600 I'm sure

Make sure it rotates a full 360* and that the oil looks ok. I wouldn't pay more the $600 for it. Mention the less desirable iron heads and the fact that you can only use it behind a 4L80E. He probably accept the $600 see if he has the flywheel too...
The 00 engine will work with any 4L80E Not sure if the converter bolt pattern is different on the older converters.
