Default narrowed to four cams.. which one?

I think I have narrowed it to three cams, and need help deciding which one would be best. I don't want the engine to have to reach very high for power, I want there to be no tuning required, and of course, I want GAINS!

The cams I am choosing are based on price (I can get all of them used for less), but also with the understanding that they will all yeild some gains somewhere in the powerband.

Early LS1 cam:
209ex/198in duration, .5/.5 lift, 119.5 LSA
Late LS1 cam:
207ex/198in duration, .479in/.467out lift, 116 LSA
LS6 cam:
218in/204ex duration, .550 lift, 117.5 LSA
LPE GT2 cam:
205in/212ex duration, .540 lift, 116CL

And, just for reference, the stock 99 5.3 cam:
191in/190ex duration, .466in/.457 out, 115.5 LSA

Help me here guys....
I know these cam questions get old, but do I appreciate everyones help.

In order of the cams...

NO
Maybe
NO w/o stall
Better than no 2 choice but more costly.

To get the best of either the late LS1 or Lingenfelter cam tuning will help...

If you want the least amount of tunning, I would go with the 01 LS6 cam. Here are some numbers for you.

-2001-2002 LS6....204/211 .525/.525 116
Part # 12560950

-2002-2003 LS6....204/218 .555/.551 117.5
Part # 12565308

you can do those cams for less but imo will be dissappointed with the results. i went to a 99 f bod cam and it was ok. i think there are other mods you can do that will yield more power. all the cams you have listed will lose some low end. what are the mods you have now.

Hmmm, I will lose low end with ALL of those cams?

To answer your question as to what mods I have already:
K&N FIPK, Pacesetter shorties, removed cats, Dynomax ultraflow dumped before the axle, and a vette servo...

That's it as far as performance goes. I could do a tune now, but that would be stupid if I am going to turn around and do a cam two months later, and I don't wanan do a stall yet.

well if you have already removed the cats then you prolly have losdt some low end already. i suppose you wont lose to much more. but you will gain from 3000 and up and be able to move up the shift points.

If you do a nelson tune then all you would have to pay for is the shipping cost which is 10$ and the cost of shipping the core back.

Thanks for the advice guys! It helps a lot!

The GT2 cam deal isn't gonna work out, so that leaves those other cams.

If for 50 bucks + the cost of gaskets I could get an LS1 cam, and gain 15 horses to the wheels (I'm hoping, at least), than its not really a bad deal, is it?

What do you need gaskets for? I've puled the front end on mine 3 times without changing gaskets. As long as you inspect them, to make sure they are not seperated from the metal, cut or flat spotted they can be re-used. They are very durable. I mean since your on such a buget, that's a few more $$ saved. As for the crank bolt, you can use the same one over, but you better check it every few hundred miles for the first 3000. Mine came loose, but that pulley is not going anywhere.
