How fast does the radix turn on a 6.0 w/ the stock 3.1 pulley, lets call it at 6K rpm?

How about this one, how fast does the radix turn on a 6.0 w/ the stock 3.1 pulley, lets call it at 6K rpm vs. the radix max rated rpm?

THe RADIX blower is rated at 14k rpm's. I'm spinning mine at just a hair under 17k, some Lightning guys have spun them as high as 18k though. I think that should be about the limit though.

Use this as a formula to see what you're spinning the blower at.

8 * 6000 / 3.1

8 is the diameter of the crank pulley
6000 is engine rpm
3.1 is the diameter of the blower pulley

In my case it's like this:

8 * 6500 / 3.1 = 16,774

I came up with 15,483. Is that right? seems way high to me though.

8 x 6000/3.1 = 15483, that would be higher than 14k stock, hmmm

If you use 5400 which is what I think the Superchips tune sets the shift points at, it will come out to 13,935 rpms. That would work out about right. IF ... they do set the shift points at 5400 that would explain why they don't support the warranty if you do your own tuning.

Is anyone running 10psi+ on a 5.3L with the Radix? I am really curious how the curves compare to my turbo setup so I can better explain when giving advice to people on the street and at the track when they ask which is better. I wanna be able to give good advice based on their needs and not the typical "get what I got because it's the best" kinda crap.

I should have the new motor in and the bigger turbo on with less boost so we'll see how those #s compare. 10psi Radix and 10psi rear-mount turbo on a 5.3L. Cost is comparable and both are fun as hell

Hey Flyer - are you positive about the crank pulley diameter? And is it the same diameter for 6.0/5.3/4.8?

with reference to this comment applied to the LQ4 if max radix rpm is in fact 14,000rpm, and if superchips shift point is 5400rpm, and a 6.0 crank pulley is 8", then the radix is shipped at max warranty parameters for the LQ4 kit.

i.e. 8 x 5400/3.1 = 13935.
