sorry, i'm kindof a n00b when it comes to mods. i've seen some nice pics of headers posted on here and am curious, what kind of performance gains do they yield?

probably around 20hp. long tube headers that is.

headers and full exhaust made a BIG difference with the butt meter on my stock 5.3.

Do they have an effect on the sound? I'm looking to open up this truck without making it obnoxiously loud. I hate cab noise, but I think a big block truck should actually sound like a big block.
