Another Richard Holdener video. A new video from 2 weeks ago:
In short, the cam retaining plate is being held in by one bolt on this engine in this test, and leaking. There is a 20psi difference, and he is going to redo this test. - Hopefully soon. I'd like to know if that oil pressure makes a difference. This shows the Texas speed cam made more torque at mid, but it's minimal (to me).

I have a 6.0 engine sitting in the garage. I pulled it out with 178K. I didn't get it running, but it did crank and get 60psi of oil pressure. The cylinder walls still have the crosshatching, but it's out of a 2000, so it's got that early crankshaft with the funky length. I have been thinking for a while, I just wanted something with about 500rwhp for a daily with the nv4500, but not sure. I've also got an aluminum 5.3 bored .020 over that should be ready to be built, but I don't even know if it's already too much. I've got a lot to learn to figure this out, and for what I want, it might be better to just buy a LS3 in a few years. I have a problem with buying 3/4 of the parts needed for something, then sitting on em for years.

I never had it running, and the backstory on the truck it came out of was highly questionable. I got it pretty cheap, and never planned on running it as is. I wanted to rebuild it, and hope to get 10-20 years out of it. I'm not going to install a questionable engine and just baby it or hope. They make swapping an engine look pretty easy on roadkill, but I promise you that will take me weeks if not months to get it in, and that's staying home and putting all my energy into it.
