Default My Trucks, new to the site

Hey guys.. new to the site.

I just bought a 6.0L motor for my truck. Came out of an H2. Paid $250 for it.

http://www.andrewalbin.com/LS6.htm

Engine Code : LQ4
316 hp @ 5200 rpm/360 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm. ( Stock as it sits )
Compression ratio: 9.4:1
Displacement (cu. in./cc): 364/5967
Bore and stroke (in./mm): 4.00 x 3.62/101.6 x 92.0

I'm currently rebuilding it. Trying to learn about the LS1 motor. I'm going to sell the stock cam outta it. Buy some pistons. Get the heads and block rebuilt.

Welcome aboard. I work in Euless. If you come across another 6L at that price, let me know.

Is there anything wrong with the motor right now? These things usually don't need to be rebuilt. They are pretty strong in stock form.

I work in Grapevine off hwy 121 and 360 at Classic Hummer / Chevy Used cars. They just sold me the motor for the core.

The motor was removed because the mechanic thought it was trash. The customer had it towed in. He wasn't paying attention to the service engine light. But once he reinstalled a new long block he found out that it was just one side of the motor was plugged by the cat converter. Plus the motor has 100K miles on it. Customer paid for it. But I checked out the motor everywhere. No warpage anywhere. But I would like to rebuild it just to add some more power. The crank and everything is still good. I might just add a cam and change a couple things and try to get close to the 400hp mark. I need to get an intake manifold for it, and start collecting parts that I need. I'm selling the old V6 motor outta my truck. Its got 47K original miles on it.

That S-10 has got to weight 1000lbs less then a NBS full size. Warm over that 6.0 and put some boost or nitrous to it and shoot for the 10's.
