I saw you had that oil leak problem. My buddy had that same problem of blowing oil out of the valve covers in his blown small block chevelle. we ran breather hoses from the valve covers to the headers and solved the problem as far as we could tell. Also look into a crankcase evacuation system, moroso and summit make them. You may even want to get a vacume pump if that doesnt work, moroso has that to.

Yea I still have the issue just less noticeable now that I have new valve covers with baffles, newer tighter rubber grommets, and after every run (I barely drive it) I take the breather caps off and clean the oil residue off to where when I put them back in it's a snug dry fit. When they build up over time with too much oil and start to leak from the breather holes I just replace them with new ones. I've just done this rotation once so far and seems to work. The other problem is that for the past year or so I've been driving the truck with the front up and the back down since the 9" rear end/flip swap. Haven't lowered the front yet but should be done this week. Anyway, since the truck leans toward the back, oil settles toward the back of the valve covers and since it doesn't exactly have a 100% tight seal back there from the valve cover gaskets, oil slowly drips down onto the starter. Took me a long time to find where that leak was coming from. Hopefully when the truck leans to the front like it should it won't leak back there. We'll see soon. One thing is for sure I definitely have lots of postive crankcase pressure with that much oil being pumped up that much. The motor seems to run fine and runs strong. If I had any issue with the piston rings, ring lands or anything like that would it be obvious??

I would really look into that crankcase evac system, it should only be like 20-30 bucks. I know moroso has it, its not a problem of not having enough pressure but to much, the system works great. As far as the piston rings i doubt it has anything to do with it but im no expert.
