Alright here's my scenario:

Been driving the truck lately and noticed 2nd gear wants to slip and ****. Especially when punching it around 45-55mph. It will downshift to 2nd then bounce off the rev limiter until you lift.

Now, truck has been up on jackstands for 3 weeks. Put a TCI shift kit and servo in it. Also changed fluid and filter (hoping this would help). Also, went in the Predator and put the pressure back to 0%. Now is worse.

If you punch it from a dead stop it will not shift out of first until you lift and second gear is still fucked, but will shift if you hold it, but slips in and out. Plus I get a little surging when cruising.

So please tranny gurus tell me wtf is happening and how expensive it will be to fix! Can I do it myself? Need any special tools? Thanks for the help!

 

You need a rebuild. You clutches/band are gone. That is what my first tranny did but I was still under warranty and got a new serta unit. The price for your rebuild are going to vary from shop to shop and what all you upgrade while you are in there.

 

I'm not a tranny guru by any means, but it sounds like your clutches and bands are down for the count, as posted above. Look for a good rebuild shop before it leaves you stranded.

 

What have you changed with your Predator? I would pull it all out if you have, then make my decision.

 

I put the tranny settings back to stock, except for shift time. Still have it set quick. Went to take the guy at the shop for a ride and it acted up, but not as bad. Guess we'll ride for a few days. Trying to get the 4.10's in it now and ****** GM is gay as hell. This truck hates me. Wanna buy it?


Oh BTW, what upgrades are available for the 60e? I heard of a 10-vane pump. Who makes it? I also heard the Raybesots Z-pac is a good clutch pack. Let me know boys, I ain't really in the loop as far as trannys go.
