I'm installing mine as we speak err... I type (I'm at break, lol) I just was plaing with the tabs you are talking about 01Blackerado. Although my fan housing is broke on the lright side right were that clips into the radiator housing. I made up my own wirring harness, I had pland on the ECM controling both fans but I'm not sure I can do that any more. if not I have another idea so it doesn't cause such a load on the electrical system......
I'm also doing the bb in the thermostat trick as well as a few other things, I pray it doesn't over heat seams I had so much trouble with my LT1's over heating............

Oh man, if it's broken on that side make sure you watch your temps closely. The smallest air leak around the shroud can make the radiator heat up. Mine were only slightly off when it was overheating and when I moved the tabs, they only went forward about 2cm's or so. But, it made a huge difference!! I literally was at 230 on the gauge when this happened (efilive). Ever since the slight move, never see above 200

When i put my LT1 Fans in, I made these simple 3.5x3.5" squares out of some 1/8" steel. I bent the tops of them so they were the correct angle to press against the fans shroud. The bottom of the shroud fit in the radiator tray. Ive not had a overheating problem, but my truck is stock. I do have a "surge" on my electric system when i turn the fans on.. I have a mini toggle switch in my center console that is connected to a 30A relay under the hood that controls both fan motors. I know when i turn them on, the volt meter drops pretty good. BUT i put LT1 fans on my friends 04 Z71 and his cousins 04 Tahoe Z71. I ordered them new motors for their Fans, they have 0 drop in voltage when theirs are turned on. So im thinkin my motors are "dragging". They came off a 94ish LT1 so, im goin to get new motors and see if that fixes the problem. IIRC i got my friends motors for $40 each??
Hope you get that problem figured out Thunder!!!
I have my PCM ready to run the fans, i just havent hooked them up.. What do i need to do that?? Just put the ground for the Relay in Pin uh.. is it 41??
