Well the problem lies in that i dont have V2. still working with V1, not that its a bad thing. I would really like to make this work as it would eliminate having to make multiple tunes.....

Too bad you can't tune for just E85. If you did, you could build even more compression into the engine. If you weren't stuck on that cam, you could also start with more compression with a bigger cam. And what in the heck do you think that adding Heet (12 oz. pure methanol) to a tank that 28 of its 34 gallons are pure ethanol, is going to do?

On a more neighborly note, I hope you get it to work. I wish I had flex fuel, and big enough injectors for E85. It would be nice to run E85 only, but I would feel like I'm on a leash tied to the area that I'm in, where it is readily available. And the other reasons that you mention.

I can tune for just E85 if my truck were to stay around here - but its not. I go to Chicago every now and again, as well as various other road trips, and I find E85 is harder to find elsewhere. I want the peace of mind of being able to basically dump 91 or whatever the highest normal fuel is i can find in and it adjusting for it. I'm going to have to tune the low octane tables real well as well as the high I'm assuming to make sure i dont have any problems. Not too sure yet and I'm still a bit of a rookie at this tuning stuff.

As for the cam I'm not STUCK on it per say, I'm just getting a smoking dea lon it from a friend. I'd really like to run one spec'd for the engine - compression and fuel wise - to ge tthe most out of it. But I'm trying to keep within my budget (like that ever happens though lol.) As for the HEET comment - my excuse was I was tired and late at night while posting and the idea popped into my head - obviously not the best one lol. my bad.

As an update - I tried making the programming work for the 06 - swapped pedals and TAC modules in to solve my ETC issues - still only 66% throttle. Dug into it some more and found the winring is what is different as well - I'm not going through that to make it work. gonna get a friend at the local scrap yard to help me out - should be able to get a flex sensor and the lines and connector end for not too much cash so i can drop it right in the truck - no fuel line splices needed!

Any more comments or suggestions are welcome - cam recs, fuel recs, anything!! or just make fun lol.

Ya, honestly from what i have seem the 06 and 07 OSes are crap. Also you cant put that tune in without changing some hardware around. I have seen a couple of people go from 06 OSes to 05 but never the other way around.

Your other solution would be to get the dual flash pcm. Have one tun for e85 and one for regular. But that will also cause some issues when you have a blend of both regular and e85 gas in the tank.

The 06 oses are not missing tables they are missing defined PIDs. Some idle ones and some airmass ones

Yeah the hardware issues is what i was up against and figured out. Its nothing major really but the expense versus getting the lines and sensor are far greater. ... it'll be a week or so before i get a sensor and get around to getting that part going.
