Great thread, read the entire thing today and can't wait to get a 6.0 to start on my first engine build. My 317 heads should be here soon, can't wait to tear into them!

How many miles did your 6.0L have on it? Other than the corrosion those cyl walls look like the motor had low miles on it (I see the crosshatching yet)

There was only 68k on the motor when I bought it. I would have left it the way it was and used standard pistons had there not been some corrosion on two of the cylinder walls from the crack in the head from the accident the truck was in.

Ordered 5 spray cans of paint code matched copper engine enamel, & 2 primer cans, a place called Tower Paint, in WI somewhere...I'm going all in with an all copper block, supercharger, valve covers, and hitting the outside of the heads with some super fine glass bead to give it a nice brushed finish.

Ya well There on the top of my List.... I got a knock sensor from them and it went bad Just out side of there 90 day warranty. so they say sorry nothing we can do. To make it worse they raised there price to around the same as the dealer. So on that part It's actually cheaper for me to get it from the dealer with my discount through work. The Dealer has a 1 yr warranty. In this case It was a DURALAST Boxed part but had all the same numbers and markings that a dealer part has. They should Re Phrase there modo from "Built to last, Duralast" = "Built from crap, Doesn't last"

I replaced it with a "Free" one from The Junk yard and its been fine ever since...

Sorry, Had to get that out. You may proceed.
