He didn't really explain what the adjustment was. He just said he likes to slow the idle drop down with bigger than stock cams to avoid stalling the engine when the rpms drop. I have a feeling it had something to do with the Idle air control valve adjustment but cant confirm it for a fact. it was either that or he had tuned it for a DBW throttlebody which the LQ9 originally had but I asked him about it and he didn't say much. Got it straightened out now though so i'm happy!

Congrats man, I had a similar experience with my LQ4, came out of a wrecked 2500, cracked her open and she was a solid runner. I am currently collecting parts to reassemble and finish my swap.

Gonna do some speedo vids and stuff in the next week or so. Still limiting it to 3/4 throttle max untill I get a few more miles on it and do another oil change.

I just installed some bilstein 5100's all around and got a killer deal on some used procomp 315/75R16 AT's for $175, 4 with 75% tread and 1 brand new for a spare. The cooper STT's I had were just too bald, these AT's ride just as nice and are silent. They should last me through the winter and them I'm gonna get a new set of Tires and rims as well. But for now the AT's and new bilsteins ride nice!

Next thing I gotta do is the HD2 shift kit/servos/accumulator and some sort of traction bar in the rear, gotta start shoppin or fabbing. With this 6.0 Im getting more axle wrap and loosing more traction than I did with the 5.3 but it's for a good reason- way more power than before!

Any chance I should have gotten bigger injectors for this build? I used the 6.0 injectors just in case they were different than the 5.3 but I'm just curious, I'm going to be installing Doug thorley Tri-y headers down the road now that I know they are CARB approved and will be legal and my Airaid intake tube is on its way via mail but other than that I think the mods will be complete for a while.

Well I have decided to get some 8.1 Marine injectors since justin w/blackbear said that im pretty much at the borderline for maxing out my stockers.

I can feel it losing power when it approches 5500-6000rpm which justin said is most likely my stock injectors maxing out. Plus my fuel pressure is around 45-50 psi at idle but when revving it goes down to around 44psi So i'm considering installing an inline pump to help the stock pump which is only a year or so old. I'm also am going to get some CARB legal doug thorley TRI-Y's as soon as I can find a good deal on some, since I'm in california I have to find some with EGR AND AIR which is not common so I'm having a hard time finding a good used set.

Heres a speedo vid of my getting on the freeway and flooring it from 20 or so MPH below. Justin didnt remove the speed limiter which I did not find out untill making the vid, falls on its face right at 100mph but I will get that fixed when I get it retuned for the bigger injectors. The truck pulls pretty good considering i'm running a 5" lift and 315/75R16's but the 4.56 gears help alot. Let me know what you guys think, I also got a front hub bearing that needs replacing and i can feel it holding the truck back a little so after the injectors and new hub bearings I will post a new speedo vid! -Also still need to install my Transgo HD2 and servos soon!

Thanks, I tried to make it as informative as I could cause I love being able to look up other peoples builds and see detailed info, specs, what works and don't work. Other members thread's helped me with this build alot so I figured others could do the same with mine.

Well my suspicion was right I wasnt getting enough fuel. I confirmed this today. I decided to change out the fuel filter while I was doing a few other things around the garage and my fuel pressure is alot better now! I had just replaced the fuel filter right before the engine swap but I guess it had gotten gunked up from sitting still for around a year. I put my mouth up to the old fuel filter and tried to blow air through it and it was very hard, alot of resistance. I tried the same on the new filter and I could blow air right through with pretty much no resistance at all. Now my fuel pressure is around 60psi at Idle and around 55psi while revving it ( was 50-45psi with the old filter!). I hear barely any sputtering now and am sure after I get bigger injectors and maybe still an add-on inline fuel pump it will be getting plenty of fuel.

Took it for a quick spin up and down the street and it feels ALOT more reponsive and pulls alot harder now, Amazing what the 10psi difference made! I will also be doing an updated speedo video soon now to do the first one justice lol.

The stock injectors will suffice for a 6.0 with headers, after that they're maxed out.
