Default Muffler swap vs Catback

Stock 5.3 crew cab, Wondering if a Catback is worth it or just swap the muffler. Looking at the universal fit flo pro 2501 vs the db performance Catback by Corsa, $150 vs $550. The goal is to reduce restriction and get any benefits that come along from that. Fyi, summer plans include headers.

Everyone says they love the corsa, might be pretty loud with long tubes though, I would just do a muffler because pipe is pipe, and the pipe in the cat back kit isn't different than what's on your truck now, unless its going to a bigger diameter. the kits are just nice that you don't have to cut and weld

Unless you are going to build something wild just stick with a weld in muffler from magnaflow or other straight thru mufflers.

Is a tvs1900 considered wild? It may be a few years but hopefully one is in the future.

6.2?

Corsa is excellent quality but I believe is smaller diameter than stock exhaust. If you plan to do a supercharger down the road I would look at atleast keeping the same size exhaust.

Stock is all mandrel bent 3.5" (providing you have the 6.2) so I would just do LT's into the stock exhaust and replace the factory muffler.

I'm hoping the stock piping can handle a TVS1900, I.D. is either 2.75 or 3"

Holy **** I am a blind ****...

Not sure what the stock size is but I would just start with replacing the muffler. If you want more can always upgrade down the road
