Default Muffler roar

I just bough an 03 Silverado 2500HD 4X4 and I love when I start the truck and at idle it has that deep roaring sound and I love it but when I am cruising on the freeway or at high RPMS it is so loud that it kinds hurts my ears from inside the truck... is there a muffler that gives that nice roar at idle but isn't as loud as high rpms?

What kind of muffler is on it now??

I know many cambered mufflers like to drone at cruising speeds. Perhaps look into something with a more straight through design or add a resonator before your muffler to help with the drone.

Does it not exit the rear of the vehicle.

If the exhaust is dumped directly after the cab or before the rear axle, it will always be louder. Having the exhaust exit the rear of the vehicle will normally always be quieter.

And on top of that if it points towards the ground it will also be louder.
