Default Muffler (I know it's been beat to death.... but...)

Didn't see anything in the archives that fit the part. Looking for a little better sound for my son's '07 GMC with 4.8L. I don't want to spend the cash to do a full cat back, just looking to change the muffler. I know that I won't be getting the huge HP increase that a cat back offers, but I don't want him to be breaking the sound barrier anyway. I want something that sounds good at idle and WFO, but quiets down nicely when you set the cruise. No drone. I really liked the corsa I had on my truck before mods. That's what I'm after, but I don't want to spend that much money. Help appreciated.

well a decent catback won't net you HUGE HP anyway...I'm going to put a Hooker Aerochamber on my truck when i do my headers. I've heard a couple aerochamber on stock exhaust that i thought sounded good...If JUST looking for sound, the flowmaster always sounds good IMO

You might look into Spintech as well, they are known to keep the resonance down and sound really cool at the same time.

alot people hate on 'em but

I'm really happy with my 40 series flow.. it drones a little bit at 1.8-2.2K rpm but its tolerable and I think even sounds nice... pretty quiet at cruise and growls at WOT..

i have a stock size magnaflow and on the e-state at 75mph cruise you wouldn't even know its in there. in fact when the wife first drove it, she ask "are you sure they put it in there". but at wot you know its there.
