Default Muffler choice

I have a 99 silverado LS 5.3L. Trying to figure out what muffler I should look for. I am looking for a muffler that will give a loud sound and a nice rumble at idle. Any suggestions? 3in inlet and outlet

i ran an SLP loudmouth1 on my truck for 5 years, just switched to a borla xr-1. the SLP was loud!!!! i got tired of the drone so i went with something else. the borla sounds good, a much better tone than what i had. Not near as loud though, i may be switching to a black widow or i may even try a carven.Ii know the BW will drone horribly and im not into that anymore, I liked it before the kids came. i personally would stay away from all series of flowmaster, I ran a 40 for 3-4 years and didn't realize how bad it chocked the exhaust until i got rid of it.

My truck has 40 series Flow master. It was on it when I bought it. 3" inlet, dual 2.5" outlet. Has a really nice rumbling idle. Not hardly any drone at highway speed. It may or may not be choking the truck out, but I doubt it chokes it out as bad as a stock muffler!

I had an 11 sec. Fox body back in the day. It had dual 2.5" 40 series flows on it, and it had a horrible drone on the highway. Guess it just depends on the vehicle and muffler location. My crew cab truck isnt bad on the highway at all. I would like to switch to a more free flowing muffler when I add headers and y-pipe, but im worried about excessive drone!

I like my Dynomax VT. Zero drone and a nice rumble at idle.

I love my borlas, have ran them on most everything I have. No raspy or pinging, and drone is minimal.

I have had magnaflows as well and they aren't bad. Nice smooth tone.

I have a few friends that run spintechs and they sound good, a little more drone than I like but Its not bad enough to turn them down.

I hate flowmasters, the tingy raspy sound doesn't sound good in my opinion.
