it doesnt matter what you do unless you get up around 500hp or a real quick burst of power you wont break the tires lose. your best bet would be getting some old 245 tires with no tred left and seeing if that works and it hepls if there at max psi.

I had my tires spinning @ 60mph yesterday. That was on 12# of boost. I run 20" wheels with 295 tires and I can spin them when ever I want. So get a 4.8 and then you can do it too

its not the fact of lossing traction that im trying to acceive, but just awww factor. I know the point is to hook. But i dont care if i hook i have a 7000lb truck not much im gonna beat anyway without huge horse power. Plus i have a 4wd truck soo i have another 150 lb diifference between mine and a 2wd version of mine. i didnt buy my truck to go fast but to play in the mud, tow and hall stuff and add a cuple of ponies to help that out, but i was just wondering how much more i would have to do to make it just much of a jaw dropping truck.

i think it would be more impressive if you could be rollin 45 and hit and leave like a rocket with a little tire spin (maybe) it was cool in high school when you could burn out i think it made it seem faster or you could get some donuts of a little car and drill some holes in the rims so it will bolt on there you go instant tire spin at 100mph

Put Clorox on the tires. Its what the movie people have been using for years to make the tires smoke. That and some low-profile tires is the only thing I know of without building a 500 hp engine.

7,000lbs+ truck??? What the heck are you driving??? You may need more than 500HP to do it now. If your driving a 1/2 ton truck, it's no 7,000lbs truck.

I have a forged 418CI engine in my truck with aftermarket heads, large cam and full boltons and I can do it form about a 25 mph roll so it is going to take alot more than just a few hundred bucks to do it.

Badazzracing I really dont see you being able to do a 50mph burnout sorry. I have less weight transfer than you and shitty *** bfgoodrich rugged trails or some ****. I am making close to the same hp as you I would be willing to bet atleast within 50 or so hp and you are talkin from a 50 roll which is the bottom of 2nd where you are in the shitty part of the power band. Either that or you are downshifting into first at 50 which you can say bye bye to your output shaft and planetaries shortly if that is the case.

I might not have as much hp as you do badzracing, but I'm hard pressed to get the tires to spin above 40mph, and there is no way ther going up-in-smoke. now if had just rained well that's another story. J/K everyone know STS trucks don't play in the rain. lol

I understand the doubt, but believe me when I tell you it can/ has been done on more than one occassion. Also, I never downshift into first at speed ( my dad builds race automatics and he would slap the **** outta me if I broke yet another tranny). If I am rolling at 50 in 2nd and mash the throttle, it'll most definately boil the tires and usually lands me in the wrong lane. Now, to address weight transfer and the " shitty part of the power band": It's next to impossible to have worse weight transfer than a rcsb ( with 0 traction devices) and there is NO shitty part of the powerband in 2nd while rolling at any speed above 40ish. It stops pulling hard at around 7200rpm's. Your 418 has got to be a torquey mother, so it's almost hard for me to believe you can't kill the hides above 25. Mine is only 364 cubes, 9:1 comp, and it's torque as ****, although I'm sure the blower helps that quite a bit. Once I get my crank pulley issue straightened out, I'll take some vids and post'em up for the "non-believers".
