Default Motor Swap

I got an 81 Chevy Silverado and I am wanting to put a newer model 5.3 in this baby. What all would be invlolved in doing this and if anyone has any helpful tips or link I would greatly appreceate it. Thanks in advance.

Well, what transmission is in it now? You are going to need different engine mounts, but those aren't that hard to find (I've found them). You will need the harness, the VCM, upgrade the fuel system to provide for fuel injection, perhaps different manifold/headers.

Bottom line, it's not a cakewalk and it's not the cheapest to do. But if you are up for the challenge, many will tell you it's worth it.
