Its best to break it in not making WOT runs and varying your speed not holding a certain RPM for vey long.Sounds like you'v been beating on it so this info is pretty useless.
2005 CREW CAB
5.3 3.73 G80 STock
shifting at 5800 all the time!!
this thing is fast!
Funny how people have different preceptions to what there idea of fast is.

this is what i did...
city, vary mph's for about 500 miles >change oil
city miles for the next 2000
maybe occasionally run it up to 70
and then back down pretty easy
first 3 oil changes were at 2000
runnin it hard out the box wont make it any faster
good luck

This is how I broke in my old 2000 Camaro SS. Pulled out of dealer lot and FLOORED IT!!!

I took it to the track about a couple weeks later in good air and clicked off a 13.15 @ 106+ Bone stock. The motor ran absolutely fine until I wrecked it.
I did the same thing with my 2001 Camaro SS and took it to the track a few weeks after buying it and ran a 13.3 in the 90 degree heat.
In good air it would've killed the '00.
I don't believe in that mild break in stuff at all, seen too many vehicles beaten on right from the get go run strong for hundreds of thousands of miles.
This is all just my opinion though.

The hemihead guys wont believe it.For me I take it easy for 500 miles (just a couple of short blasts) then oil/filter.Then your ready to go tow and do more blasts then at about 1200 miles do what ever. You may never know what long term effect difference it makes. The OE specs have a wide range of tolorences, get one on the tight side and you could do damage on a long hard run and problems may not show until years later. Years ago I broke a couple motors during the new car pre-delivery inspection. When I go buy new I take one with 3-7 miles on it,we all know what people do on test drives, treat them like rentals.
