Most HP/TQ out of an 04 Duramax?
I'm curious to know how much these motors are capable of making. I'm sure there are a few out there who have pushed the limits on them.
Also by adding just the normal boltons (chip, exhaust, intake), what could one expect to see (in terms of HP output and even ET)?
Thanks

I have seen a dyno of the LB7 motor, stock internals, injectors, turbo, intercooler, etc. w/ stacked tunes, Spray, Exhaust, Intake, and I cant remember if he had propane, but he maxed out the dyno at 1200 ft.lbs of torque, and I wanna say his hp was somewhere around 700-800, but dont quote me on the hp rating.

The guy that runs a dyno shop locally told me that there's an 03 D-Max in town thats puttin' down 1000ft/lbs. Of course, he said it has a custom transmission. The guy owns a construction company and writes off everything he does to the truck as company expense!

There are no consumer avail boxes/flashes for the new LLY motor yet.
A while back I posted a dyno plot of an LB7 motor that laid out over 1200rwtq...that would roast a 35" tire into 3rd gear of the Allison easily.

AlexWS6,
There are some diesel pages that are almost identical to this forum, might find some great info there. Just search google. My mechanic has been looking at these to find easy upgrades for our HMMWVs w/ 6.5L. Pretty tough though cause not much room in the engine bay.

I thank quad has something out now. Quad 120! You might have to be a member to look at that page.

I'm running a 04 dmax (not the new engine). With an exhaust, airaid intake and the edge 90hp chip, I ran it at the track with nothing removed (including toolbox and tools, tailgate, spare tire, hitch) and with 30 ft of spinning it ran a 15.2. Weighed in a few days later at over 7500lbs (3/4 ton quad cab).
With the wierd shifts of the allison it certainly does'nt feel that fast, in fact I would have guessed mid 16"s before I saw the timeslip.
And capable of getting 24 mpg on the cruise at 65 mph. Not bad!
