might as well leave your stock exhaust manifolds on if you want to buy short tube headers cuz your just wasting $350. search around this site some more and you will read time and time agean that shorty's dont gain you anything on these ls engines.

If your worried about the O2 sensors, they made extenders for them if you really need them. SILVERADO11 is correct on the shorties comment. You want your engine to breath more. There are a few cheap long tubes out there. LPP seems to have a long wait for their headers right now. Watch out on those LPPs https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...er-w-pics.html

I got tired of waiting on LPP and in the mean time, 6 weeks, saved up a few more bucks and purchased a nice set of ceramic hooker headers for 600ish. Time is on your side man.

On average you'll gain 20 rwhp with headers.

You could also get the L92 heads and the intake. I see the L92 intake In Dallas's craigslist complete with injectors for $200.

If your truck is a 2006 then you have 317 heads. The L92s come on the gmt900 trucks.

If you are intrested in the Heads upgrade, I would pick up that intake since it's priced low if its in good condition. Then later find the heads, it does not hurt your pocketbook, much...
When I was shopping for a 6.0 I came accross all sorts of prices on the heads. You just have to shop around, jegs, summit etc...

I know you wanted a cost effective way to gain more power but thats how I got started on my build, looking for cheap upgrades on my 5.3 then after spending $1200 on intake jtube maf & a flowmaster install. I could have just bought a patriot performance heads package for $1300 from summit and really felt the extra power after a tune vs what I spent my $1200 on. Now I am over $7k into my build and with nothing to show with the $1200 I spent on the 5.3.

I am going to sell my JBA shortys, never put them on, and I am going to go with a pair of long tubes. Anyone know anything about ARH?
