Question Modified TBI Manifold

I know there is a guy on eBay who sells stock TBI manifolds with the throttle bores punched out to 2" to fit larger bore Throttle Bodies. Has anyone in here ever done that to the Edlelbrock Performer TBI manifold?

I know the Edelbrock Tech said not to modify it, but they say that about everything. My TB has 2" bores and I want the Intake to match..

I had the holley intake that works with a 2" throttle body ( big block or holley projection ) the reason the holley isn't a direct fit, is because they don't make it for the new style canted centerbolt heads, and the egr valve hit's the IAC valve. For me to make it work, i got an egr valve adaptor from Carter, this rotates the valve and moves it further backward, clearing the IAC. And then i ground a small amount of material out of the manifold so it would fit the canted heads. there's tons of material, so it's not an issue. I'll check in the garage to see if i still have it around, as well as my edelbrock ( to be honest.... i totally forget which intake i sold the truck with ) and if i still have one of them layin around.... i'll let ya know which one, and how much if you're interested.

I was all hyped about the Holley 300-66 until I seen how many mods had to be done to make them work. I have the Holley TB right now. My EGR is turned off in my ECM
so thats not an issue, but there are bracket issues and heater hose taps as well as the brake booster. I might be better off with the Edelbrock. If I can't bore it to 2" then I could at least champher the top edge of the bores to smooth out the flow.

If you have the Performer let me know, I would be interested.

Yeah let me know for sure, if you've done all the mods on the Holley, I'd be interested in either manifold if the price is right...

Problem with that is no accessary holes and lots more bracket work etc. The Performer bolts right on with all ,taps and bungs, I seen dyno test where the Performer TBI made 12-15 horses.

Yea, I know. I used to have a Edelbrock TBI manifold. There are definitely worth the money. But, there is enough material to bore one out.

Did you say there 'is not' or there is enough material to bore the Edelbrock out to 2"?

I know for a fact that there is not enough material to bore the edelbrock manifold to 2" I did and hit a water jacket, after trying to weld the hole shut I threw the manifold in the garbage. I ended up using the stock manifold bored to 2". I would recommend using that and then maybe having the runners ported and polished.
