So if I have and 2000 with electric fans could I get the MIT pipe from one of the newer trucks or would it still have the bend for the fan shroud?

Get the MIT for the 05-07 classic 1/2 tons. That's what I did when I switched to E fans on my 05 1500 HD. The intake does not have the cut out to accomodate the fan shroud.... as they don't have one, lol.

It does flatten out where it goes up and over the rad hose but it maintains the diameter. I will add I noticed absolutely nothing adding this to my truck...... I did it just to get rid of the ugly stock tube, lol.

I know this is in the GM section of the site, but I'll give you my experience with my hemi. The only difference I've been able to notice between the MIT and an open air element intake is that the cone filter is a lot louder. As far as performance goes, I didn't notice any difference. The Airaid MIT is the way to go IMO.

Black Bear performance did a test with various different CAI kits and the Airaid tube by itself leaving the stock air box had the most gain over the other kits tested.

A CAI doesn't add much power anyhow, but the Airaid MIT tube is probably the best for the money.

The information is posted on another gm forum as I cannot post the link here. It is gm full size.

Here is the PDF file link if you would like to download from Blackbear Performance.. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/55742651/In...%20Results.pdf

I meant to post that here but forgot. I was definitely impressed, and even happier with my decision to go with the MIT.

I have the airraid jr. and love it. I bought it solely because it looked oem, I can't stand the chrome or stainless look, I am OCD about my **** looking oem. I got the dry filter and tube for around $130 shipped

I just used some 4in drain pipe, a 900 degree elbow I got off the net 20$ and the transition for the MAF got it at lowes. It works good and cost me less than 50$. I wrapped the tube with header wrap to try to keep heat out.
