It runs way better than it did stock for sure. But economy also comes from how you drive...my truck doesn't see much past 50% throttle often much less WOT. It doesn't run much faster that way anyway.

What kind of numbers do you think I'll see with this setup and a mild tune from Allen? Mpg and 1/4 mile? Think that cam will help the low end torque a bit?

I think with a tune and cam .5-.7 is realistic. The LS1/6.0 cam is going to make power or at least remain flat to 6000rpm whereas the stock truck cam in the 5.3 falls out that high.

You may not gain any low end or lose any, the cam has just a few more degrees of duration and a wider LSA making that responsible for its pull to a higher RPM.

I think that cam you picked is too small. I'd go with at least a 212/218 if your going to go thru the trouble of putting a cam in.

the only diffrence between Edit and HP, is you get the date logging software with Hp, and Edit doesnt come with it.
otherwise they are exactly the same, except for the software bit.
but what ever you can do with edt, you can also do with HP.

I was considering that cam, but like I said, it's my daily driver, and I believe that cam will definitly be an improvement over stock. I had my Pop talk to his rep from Comp Cams and the rep suggested this grind for a daily driver that wants decent gas mileage and no emissions issues. The original grind called for a 112 lsa, but the guy from Comp said they'd custom grind it with a 114 lsa in the interest of driveability and mpg. (My dad has been building race engines for a living since 1971, his engines hold over 40 national records, although he hasn't done much with the GenIII engines)
