Default Methanol Question...

I just noticed my Methanol bottle is inverted. As if the pressure inside was sucking inward. Basically, the opposite of what a sour milk jug would do. I released the pressure valve and some pressure was released, but it's still sucked in on all 4 sides. I'm assuming this is normal, but seems odd!

Have you guys/gals experienced the same thing? I always knew Meth would have me seeing funny...

Isn't there some kind of a vent to let air in to replace the meth thats been sucked out??

I think there should be. Check it out.

What are you using for a meth bottle?

Default Vent in cap

My SMC kit has a small vent in the cap. The problem with Meth is that it evaperates so fast! You have to have a special filter vent. Heres a picture of what mine looks like. One of the top and bottom.

I'm using the STS kit. It has a screw on top like your have, but I'm thinking your middle section is the release. Doesn't that cause it to evaporate too quickly? Mine also has a release button on it like on a gas can. I thought after I released it that it would have popped back to size, but it's still all shrunken up!

I'll have to check with STS and see what they're doing about this. It needs to be corrected somehow...

Any chance your vent is plugged?

Not sure, it's a brand new tank. I'm not 100% sure there even is a vent on it. I'll have to look at it again tomorrow. I would think if it had a vent, then it wouldn't have the release tab on the side to release the pressure.?.?

The center section is some kind of vent. I really do not have a problem with it evaperating, Just always spraying because of my foot position.
