Default Max boost with Whipple???

I'm currently running 8psi and want more. What's the max? I heard 12 was about the limit before the belt starts slipping. Should/could I go from 8 right to 12? I am running a SMC alcohol injection kit so I think I should be able to prevent most KR.

Ive never heard of anyone going over 10#, but that doesnt mean it isnt possible.
So you got the KR issues worked out?? What settings are you running on the controller, i.e. pump speed and turn on point??

I have heard of people seeing 12.4psi with no slip.

I have also heard you can reclock the tensioner to get A TON of tension on the belt. That thing wouldn't slip with a roller skate wheel on!

Oh ya, I wouldn't doubt 16psi either...

Ditto on the tensioner...I'm all about Reclocking School...

I'm running 11 PSI on my 5.3 right now. 358 RWHP / 472 RWTQ No belt slippage, although the tensioner sure likes to move around alot on quick deceleration!

I'll get pics from that person tomorrow (i think it is with the newer, single belt kits)

EDIT: with the spring tensioner that comes with the Whipple kit

holy old topic, but, i started it so i don't care. lol
I think i know what is meant by reclocking the tensioner. i'm gonna do it soon. on mine, the tensioner is held on by a bolt right thru the middle of it, and there is a tab that comes out the back of it into a hole in the mounting plate. if i were to just drill a new hole in the mounting plate a litte further to the left, that would put more tension on the belt. I'll take pics if/when i do it.
