mass air flow sensor

Default mass air flow sensor

my check engine light came on, mechanic put it on a computer, it read 201 maf sensor,evertime i gassed it it help back, they unplugged it , it ran good, is my sensor no good?

Take a look at the thin wires in the MAF, they may gotten damaged or dirty.

if it was completely trashed, it'd be having some severe idling problems like mine did when I blew it do to too much K&N filter a few years back.
It'd idle up to 500rpm then die.

If you unplug the MAF the truck will run off of the MAP and it will pop a code. What this will do for you is take the MAF out of the equation and tell you if there is some other problem. If the truck runs fine (relatively speaking) with the MAF unplugged then you know your MAF is going out/getting lazy.

But if you say it pop code 201? As in P0201? Code P0201 = Injector 1 Control Circuit
