Default Making your own supercharger

I did some searching and I found out that a lot of people are using smog pumps as small superchargers. What do you guys think of this idea? They do seem to push a good amount of air. I believe one guy claimed about 40hp on his vehicle (don't know what it was though). It would be really easy and cheap to make. I plan on searching some more and finding more info about it.

Just run a straw from the inside of the cab to the throttle body, and blow into when you floor it! J/K

that is like one of those electric blowers. and also i did not read it but it looks like he is using it on a small motor. i was going to do this on a little brigs and straton 2,5 horse motor i have and make a minny bike or something. not trying to ne and *** but get realistic here that is not going to have any affect on a v8 motor. you think the pump could even push the amount of air a v8 pulls in. but i will tell you for a smaller motor it would help. i am talking small like i mentioned earlier.
hope this brings it into perspective and not trying to bash. but i feel if it even flowed enough air it would have very little benifet.

If you read on... he used multiple pumps (4-8 i think) to make sufficient power on the V8's. Its not a bad idea, but not worth it at all to me.
