making it with parts laying around

just got a 1st gen s10 blazer previous owner had a lt1 and 4l60 and all new drop suspension never finished it ... I got with no engine and trans traded about $200 worth the parts for it. body isnt all that great but nothing I cant fix myself (will post pics soon)
I have a ly6 with 89,453 miles on it want to swap springs,cam(ls9), do the head gaskets and bolts. Question is how crazy can I go boost(turbo) wise with stock valves in i use to see them coming into the dealership with the head of the valve stuck in the piston.
also have a custom grind laying around older three bolt style ls thats 240 duration and a little over .600 both intake and exhaust so N/A could be possible too?
for the trans I have two choices a th400 or a 03 4l80 i have both now in stock form. also car 12 bolt rears and a few 10 bolts to cut ...I dont need to be that streetable I live less than 3 miles from shop but limited funds but tons of parts to use or trade any opinions?
