Aren't the ASM headers CARB approved? Or am I making things up?

I am in the same position on header choices. I am looking for a header for my truck. I need something C.A.R.B. approved. The TOG's look like a very nice product. They are legal too. Long tubes I don't know. Even if they pass the sniffer test they still have to pass a visual test. My buddy's 5.0 has a 347 supercharger long tubes and stand alone computer. He tuned it perfect(many hours involved) he passed the sniffer but failed the visual because of the long tubes.Go figure...

It's also a law that you cant change your cats to an aftermarket brand, you have to get them from GM. GM wants $$$$$$ for them. You can get away with it if you do not get a really thero inspector (visually). They have been known to over look alot of things, and some they dont. I always get flaged and sent to the test only station, where they are very thero. Lucky these where stock trucks. I have not smoged mine yet. STS has an EO# but I still need to hide some things.

yea long tubes wont pass... i just talked to a guy out here at a racing shop and he says they wond pass the visual cuz they dont have the sticker... so i might just have to settle for the damn shortys... or... do they make mid length headers for the 5.3 that will pass smog?? ****** cali lawmakers... i just wanna punch em in the face

thats whats great about being military. im from san diego and currently living in washington. when i go back to cali this time next year, i will have long tubes, already have no cats, and a few other illegal things by state law. but it doesnt matter cause im military and i can claim residency in any state. the truck is gonna be registered in washington, which means no inspections or smog for me! just wanted to rub it in a little bit. good luck with your header decision.

The TOG headers are mid length and have AIR and EGR on too.
