I'll have to check that issue out. Were they using it with stock manifolds or headers?

they haven't put headers on yet so they probably are using factory manifolds. one of the upcoming issues they will be putting bassani headers on it.

just a little more info on the y-pipe. it is all mandrel bends and merges into a 3" pipe.

I wanna see that Bassani header install. I've always liked the looks of the Bassani's, almost had put them on my crew cab.

Other than this system, which is probably a test mule for developement. Is there any other brands out there that make a direct bolt-on y-pipe system for our trucks? I mean I know that a few places like Dynatech and Stainless works have catted and offroad y-pipe setups that go with their headers. I'm not planning on headers for my Z71, but have always thought that the stock y-pipe could be improved upon with mandrel bends rather than all crushed in bends, and high flow cats couldn't hurt.

I saw that article too, looks like a direct replacement for the factory y-pipe that could be used with factory manifolds or shorties. Guaranteed it aint cheap. IMO, if I'm going through the trouble and cash to replace the y-pipe with something else I'd want to have the benefits of long tube headers too. I guess that it's good in states where emission compliance for inspection is a big issue though.
