Magnaflow mufflers with built-in X
Anyone running one? I'm looking at P/N 12599 specifically. What do you guys think about the "X" being built into the muffler instead of being in the piping ahead of it? Anyone have experience with these types of mufflers?

to me I didn't notice much if any performance over my old flowmaster and the flowmaster sounded better imo. The magnatlow sounded really tinny Im getting used to it now, but I think I will end up changi g things a bit when I get a few extra bucks

Unless you have the muffler pretty close to the collector pipes like a normal x-pipe, the crossover built in isn't gonna do much at all cause the exhaust gases have cooled down enough to where their velocities aren't like upstream at all. X-pipes on our trucks are ideally supposed to be installed as close as possible to where the two pipes come side by side.

Ok, that's the other part of the equation that I was wondering about...cool if it sounds good, but is the performance there? I guess that answers that question. I think I'd be better off running two of their round mufflers and get an X to put further upstream.
Thanks for the pics Whippled496, looks very nice
