I havent had one on my 5.3 (yet) but I can speak for the one I had on my 4.3... I had a pretty big magnaflow on it and it didnt sound bad like most aftermarket systems on v6s... I will say though that if its a nice tone you want that any magnaflow will give it to you. Just get one depending on the volume level you want.... the shorter the louder it will be.

It depends on how sensitive your SOTP meter is, a muffler isn't going to make a dramatic gain. I'd check out the Magnaflow website and scroll through their sound clips..

There are quite a few threads on this subject. Any straight through designed muffler (like magnaflow) will flow nicely and free up a couple of horses. I'm pleased with my big ole magnaflow, but when it comes to sound it's a matter of personal preference.
